Yes, Buck, we are coming!

Waiting for Dan to catch up with the tractor, Buck makes a single line of tracks through the snow. Venturing off into fields afar, he loves to kick up his heels in the snow. There is just something about having a farm dog to accompany you to do the chores that makes us smile.

New Share Bags at Hiday Farm.

For the 2010 season we are switching from using the 1/2 bushel boxes to using a reusable tote bag. These bags are 8 1/2" wide, 12" long and 13" deep. This is the New Share size and reflects the new share price of $330.00 for a 15 week share. As in the past, at certain times of the year, your share may be more than that and in slow times may be a little less than a full bag. At the Hiday Farm it will be our goal to make sure your bag is full every week.

At the Hiday farm, numerous vegetables as well as pasture raised beef, pork, chicken and turkey are available. If you would like an order form for these products, please give us a call at (517) 765-2268 and we will send you one.

Chow Time.

The weather has improved a bit and we are seeing temperatures close to 40 degrees. A welcome respite from the chilly temps we have been seeing as late. Went to the Eastern Market today. Met a lot of new people and more and more people have watched Food, Inc. and are curious about our farm and what we are raising. We had a lot of requests for chicken. More pork and more turkey. We are also getting a lot of requests for duck and will do our best to fill that demand this summer.

Hello to our Eastern Market friends. We are going to be using our blogspot to keep you updated on the dates we plan on attending the market. For Jan. we have requested a booth for Sat. the 16th.. I do not know what shed we will be in, just that it will be inside. On the 16th we will have turkey roasts, ground beef, steaks and a roast or two. We have animals in for processing at this time and should have a larger selection in Feb.. Also those of you that have beef shares on order will be getting those in Feb.. Our hope is to have some of our pork ready to go in Febuary as well. See you soon.
