Vegetable CSA Members

Snow is on the ground, but it is time to get started with spring garden preparations. If you were a CSA member last year, your sign-up forms are in the mail. Please notice we have switched to using reusable tote bags as opposed to boxes. There is one share size this year. Tentative pick-up points are at the Hiday Farm, Coldwater, Marshall, and Battle Creek. Times and places as yet to be determined. To help with the work load, we will be using some produce from other growers to help with any shortfalls. As always, we will do our best to keep quality and food safety a priority.

The deadline for the Vegetable sign up is April 1, however we purchase seed in February and March. It would be helpful to us if you could call and let us know if you plan on signing up for this year by the end of February. This too will be on a first come, first serve basis.

Thank you to the shareholders who responded to our survey. Your input was greatly appreciated. Feel free to call with any questions or concerns.

Yes, Buck, we are coming!

Waiting for Dan to catch up with the tractor, Buck makes a single line of tracks through the snow. Venturing off into fields afar, he loves to kick up his heels in the snow. There is just something about having a farm dog to accompany you to do the chores that makes us smile.

New Share Bags at Hiday Farm.

For the 2010 season we are switching from using the 1/2 bushel boxes to using a reusable tote bag. These bags are 8 1/2" wide, 12" long and 13" deep. This is the New Share size and reflects the new share price of $330.00 for a 15 week share. As in the past, at certain times of the year, your share may be more than that and in slow times may be a little less than a full bag. At the Hiday Farm it will be our goal to make sure your bag is full every week.

At the Hiday farm, numerous vegetables as well as pasture raised beef, pork, chicken and turkey are available. If you would like an order form for these products, please give us a call at (517) 765-2268 and we will send you one.
